This authentic Capreolus capreolus skull originates from the Late Pleistocene, approximately 24,000 years ago, during the height of the last Ice Age. Recovered from the sediments of the Vistula River in Poland, it represents roe deer populations that adapted to cold steppe and woodland environments.
Measuring 18 cm in length and weighing around 1 kg, the specimen preserves strong bone structure and natural surface texture shaped by long-term burial. Completely original and unrestored, it offers a clear view of cervid anatomy from one of the most challenging climatic periods in Earth’s recent history.
