This authentic Rangifer tarandus skull originates from the Late Pleistocene, approximately 38,000 years ago, during the peak of the last Ice Age. Recovered from the sediments of the Vistula River in Poland, it represents reindeer populations adapted to cold tundra and steppe environments.
Measuring 23 cm in length and weighing 1.8 kg, the specimen preserves strong bone structure and natural surface texture shaped by long-term burial. Completely original and unrestored, it offers a clear view of cervid anatomy from one of the most demanding climatic periods in Earth’s recent history.
