Unidentified Theropod Caudal Vertebra – Cretaceous Dinosaur | Atlas Mountains

Unidentified Theropod Caudal Vertebra – Cretaceous Dinosaur from the Atlas Mountains
Cenomanian (~94 million years ago) | Atlas Mountains, Morocco

This authentic theropod caudal vertebra originates from the Cenomanian stage of the Late Cretaceous, approximately 94 million years ago. Discovered in the Atlas Mountains of Morocco, it represents a fragment of the tail from a carnivorous dinosaur that once inhabited North African ecosystems.

Although not attributed to a specific genus, the vertebra displays clear theropod characteristics, including its structure, proportions, and articulation features. Fossils from this less common locality are significantly rarer than those from the Kem Kem Beds, adding to the distinctiveness of the specimen.

Preserved in natural condition, the bone retains its original morphology and surface texture, shaped by millions of years of fossilization.

Details:
• Type: Theropod dinosaur
• Element: Caudal vertebra (tail vertebra)
• Geological age: Cenomanian (~94 Mya)
